Summer Camps

RLYC believes that every child deserves the opportunity to experience nature at it fullest by attending summer camp. Therefore, we make an effort to focus on nature - which means no TVs, computers, cell phones, IPODS, etc. We do have a camp phone and we encourage snail mail to our campers from family and friends. We look forward to seeing YOU this summer!

Resident Camp

This overnight camp is for ages 7-13 and runs Sunday night through Friday at 4:30 p.m. It is a summer favorite featuring outdoor activities, hiking, camping and cooking outdoors. Of course, this camp also includes the all-time favorites of swimming, archery, songs, fishing, crafts, games, kayaking, and campfires.

**NEW** Specialty Resident Camps

Outdoor Adventure Camp
These resident campers will spend part of each day focusing on specific outdoor skills, including outdoor cooking, survival skills, orienteering and fishing. The week will culminate with a kayaking adventure where campers try out their new-found skills. These campers will also participate in the all-time camp favorites for a portion of each day as well. this camp is available for children ages 10-14.

Science Exploration Camp
These resident campers will spend part of each day focusing on the wonders science offers. Activities may include geology, hobby airplanes, chemistry experiments and physical science. Campers will have an intimate, hands-on experience exploring a wide variety of science. These campers will also participate in the all-time camp favorites for a portion of each day as well. This camp is available for children ages 7-13.

Day Camp

Our always popular Day Camp is a favorite for many children ages 4-12. This session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Monday through Friday. The cost includes lunch and a snack. This is a great introduction to camp life and activites and focuses on the all-time favorite camp activities of swimming, archery, hiking, songs, kayaking, fishing, crafts, and games.

Day Camp has a new optional Thursday overnight, allowing children to get a taste of resident camp. The Thursday Overnight includes dinner and an evening snack. Children will enjoy campfires and special events and games not offered during the normal Day Camp day. If you woud like your child to participate, please indicate this option on the camp registration and there is an additional $10 fee for the Thursday Overnight program. The minimum age for the overnight is 6 years of age.

In addition, for an additional $25 families who need extended Day Camp care can sign children up for this option which runs 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended care includes breakfast.

**NEW** Discovery Day Camp

A 3-day day camp program for high functioning special needs children and adults with good mobility. This camp will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and provide lunch and a snack. Extended care will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $20. Extended care will include a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. This camp is available for ages 7 and up.

On Thursday, July 7th we invite Discovery Day Camp camper families for a cookout at 4:00 p.m., following check-out. The cookout is free for immediate family members; just be sure to tell us how many are attending on the registration form.

Friday Cookouts

Each Friday we invite the camper's family for a cookout. The cookout is free for immediate family members; just be sure to tell us how many are attending on the registration form. The cookout starts at 5:00 p.m. Come meet the staff, enjoy camp activites, and share a meal on beautiful Rose Lake!
